AIRPOL 2007 - June 26 - 28, Louisville, KY
Jeff Stewart, ITW Devcon Futura Coatings Business Unit Manager presented a paper titled "Learning to Specify Vinyl Ester Linings for FGD Applications" in which he presented his real life experiences in writing specifications for FGD units.

JPCL - June 2007
Check out Page 46 of the June 2007 issue of JPCL for the article "Protecting Wet FGD Units at Power Plants - Know the Exposure and the Options". The article was co-written by Jeff Stewart, ITW Devcon Futura Coatings and Tom Morrissey, Norb Repman, Vijay Datta and Mike Jones, ICI Devoe. The article presents insights for specifing coatings systems that will yield 10+ years service life.

SprayFoam Magazine - June 2007
ITW Devcon Futura Coatings product "Foamseal Hurricane Adhesive", a patented system for hurricane proofing roofs is highlighted in an article titled "SPF and Hurricane - Proof Roofs" on Page 24 of the June 2007 issue of the SprayFoam Magazine. Earl Bowry - Appointed Independent Sales Rep
Earl Bowry, President of EVB Solutions based in Chesapeake, VA wil be handling sales of ITW Devcon Futura Coatings product line for the states of Virginia and West Virginia. Earl has extensive experience in the protective coatings business having worked for several large protective coating suppliers. He is a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector, Certified Marine Coatings Inspector, NACE CIP Instructor, SSPC Instructor and a SSPC Coatings Specialist.

Water & Waste Water Training Session
A Water & Waste Water training session was held in St. Louis, MO on May 15-17, 2007 and was attended by 12 applicators. The applicators were trained in the proper use and application of the ITW Devcon Futura Coatings elastomeric coating systems specified for use on Waste Water or Water Treatment projects.

ITW Devcon Futura Coatings Receives ISO 9001 Certification
Effective April 4, 2007, ITW Devcon Futura Coatings' management system has been certified to ISO 9001. The ISO 9001 certification is for the St. Louis, MO office and laboratory location as well as the manufacturing facility in Oxford, MI

Bill Rider Appointed Manager For Pipe Market Development And Sales
Bill's new position makes him responsible for Pipe Coating Projects nationwide and for increasing name recognition of the Futura pipe coating product line with Engineers, Owners, Fabricators and Specifiers. Bill has been the Southwest Regional Manager since he joined Futura.

Dannie Vickers Accepts Regional Manager Position
Effective January 1, 2007 Dannie Vickers joined the ITW Devcon Futura Coatings Team as the Regional Manager for Texas and the Gulf Coast States area. Dannie was previously the majority owner and president of Vickers Industrial Coatings which he helped establish in 1980 with his father, Ray Vickers. Dannie is a Certified NACE Inspector and is an instructor in the NACE Coatings Inspector Program (CIP), he also teaches other NACE programs on corrosion, coatings and linings.

FGD Training Session
A FGD training session was held at our St Louis facility on January 16 - 18, 2007 and was attended by 23 applicators. The applicators were trained in the proper use and application of ITW Devcon Futura Coatings vinyl ester coating systems and their auxiliary products for use on Flu Gas Desulphurization projects.

FGD Case History Article by Duane Harley
in JPCL Magazine November 2006 Issue
A case history titled “Update: Flake-Glass Lining in FGD Unit Is A-OK after 14 Years” by Duane Harley, FGD Market Manager at ITW Devcon Futura Coatings, was recently published in the JPCL magazine. Duane’s article addresses the success experienced with ITW Devcon Futura Coatings glass-flake vinyl ester systems in Flue Gas Desulfurization units. Duane’s complete article can be found on page 57 of the JPCL magazine November 2006 issue.

Greg Marshall Accepts FGD Market Manager Position
Effective December 1, 2006, Greg Marshall replaces Duane Harley as the FGD Market Manager and is responsible for FGD projects nationwide. Greg has been the South East Regional Manager since he joined ITW Devcon Futura Coatings in January 2006. Previously he was an Industrial Sales Representative with ITW Devcon since 1983.

St. Louis Cardinals win 10th World Series
Congratulations to our St Louis Cardinals on winning their 10th World Series Title. Gary Shapiro Joins ITW Devcon Futura Coatings
On September 1, 2006 Gary Shapiro joined the ITW Devcon Futura Coatings team as a Research and Development Group Leader. Gary relocated to the St Louis office from Ocala, Florida where he was the Chief Elastomers Chemist for Townley Manufacturing. Prior to working for Townley Manufacturing, Gary was the Managing Director of Technical Services for Irathane in the facility in Colorado. Gary holds a Bachelor Degree in both Business and Biology.

Duane Harley To Present A Paper at Power-Gen in Or
Duane Harley, FGD Market Manager at ITW Devcon Futura Coatings, will be presenting a paper at the Power-Gen Show in Orlando, Florida the week of November 27th. The purpose of the paper titled “FGD Flake Glass Lining – A Proven Success Story”, is to further introduce flake glass vinyl ester resin technology as a viable economic option which has been operations tested and evidenced superior on-stream availability for FGD applications. IAAPA – International Association of Amusement Par
ITW Devcon Futura Coatings will be joining Custom Creations of Union City, NJ at their IAAPA Show booth in Atlanta, GA on November 15 – 17, 2006. Lee Curry Joins ITW Devcon Futura Coatings
Effective July 31, 2006, Lee Curry has joined the ITW Devcon Futura Coatings team as a Marketing Development Manager. Lee will be focusing on Water and Waste Water projects nationwide. Lee came to ITW Devcon Futura Coatings from ICI Devoe, an ITW Devcon Futura Coatings Distributor, where he was the Industrial Coatings Specialist for the state of Georgia.

Tony Bova Attains NACE Certified Coatings Inspectors Certificate
Tony Bova, ITW Devcon Futura Coatings, Field Technical Support Specialist attained his NACE Certified Coatings Inspector certified in April 2006. With Tony’s certification ITW Devcon Futura Coatings now has three NACE Certified Coatings Inspectors as well as one NACE Level 2 and one NACE Level 1 Coatings Inspectors on staff.

ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Certification
Protec II PW, Protec II PW-ER and Futura-Thane 535 have all received their renewal ANSI/NSF Standard 61 certification for use in potable water. In addition, Protec II PW has also been certified for use in potable water at a dry film thickness up to and including 100 mils.

Protec II AM
Protec II AM is a 100% solids, direct to metal, fast set, flexible polyurethane formulated with EPA registered anti-microbial additives to prevent microbial growth. It provides a very hard, tough surface with outstanding adhesion and impact resistance along with providing excellent corrosion protection.

Updated and reformatted product brochures are now available for our Industrial Protective Coatings line of products and for our Composite, Replication and Theming products.

Fire Test Update
Futura-Thane 16705 was just retested in accordance with ASTM E84 “Standard Method of Test for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials” to confirm it’s compliance as a NFPA Class A / UBC Class1 material.
